not too hard to convert. I think all boards are actually setup to be 28 pin holes.
they just aren't socketed that way.
adhere to some basic antistatic routines (aluminum foil works nicely.
carefully remove the current chip assuming you want to save it.
bought a 40 pin socket at radio shack for $1.
cut it down to 28 pin, removed the 24 pin in the board
with some solder and some solder wick.
then soldered the 28 pin socket in.
30 minutes tops. probably less, just don't use too much concentrated heat - but
I didn't have any issues.
