Default Throttle Body Options?

What are the best bigger throttle body options out there these days? I've used the 928S unit, but have never been happy with the linkage, which creates short pedal travel. Boring the 951 unit doesn't get you very far...

So...who has a good (good and big) throttle body option?

I have been hearing about an Audi TB but do not have a part number, maybe Thom can pipe in with details. These pics are via Buchanan Automotive.

Is that a 951 throttle cam on there, or does the Audi just use the same piece?

Contact Chris White. I know he posted in another thread about this exact topic. He said he can get varying sizes up to or maybe bigger than 80mm I think?

I did talk to Chris about this, I believe his option is only for a stand alone as they will not work with the stock TPS.

Although I'm sure we could make any TPS look like the stock unit to the DME with a little Arduino magic....

Considering we are taking about Tom, I'm sure a little issue like that will pose no problem ;-)

That is not a bad idea. He said he had 60, 70, and 80 mm units that would work with essentially no modifications.

As long as it has a TPS of some kind, we can scale the pot and simulate a closed idle contact if needed. We could probably do it with a few components without the need for a microprocessor really...(since it's no fun to wait for your throttle body to boot up)...

Just for the record, the stock TB is 56.18mm.

Doesn't seem to be too much evidence from people that have used larger T/Bodies on these cars. There also seems to be quite varied opinions regarding just how much bigger to run before it really affects driveability. Pretty sure the one we're running on the racemotor is 66mm. That seems to be a decent % larger than stock without losing smoothness...I hope.

I'm sure Sean/JET951 is looking to use the Audi one pictured above on his new Intake. He might chime in with further details.

Well.. I'm interested as well! I've also been looking for actuator controller throttle body's. You can use the stock 951 pedaltravel length but use a way bigger throttle body instead. Also handy to use for traction control or launch control..

If you have an EMS, a throttle body for each cylinder is a nice option like Milledge does. A little higher cost and a new manifold............

I run a 75 mm TB and the travel of my throttle from 0-100% is about 45 mm. Works excellent at the track but not something for a street car.
