Default MOTEC M48 ?

I see a lot of ppl using other options but know Motec make good stuff so I am just wondering how ppl rate this set up ? One has become available and am weighing up if it would be worth considering. Any advantages/disadvantages anyone can think of ? Good value ?
TIA

What about the M84... They have replaced some of the other models with this one and I noticed the other day it has some pretty keen pricing:

M48 is the older version, no canbus, a lot less features than a M84 or M400 etc. Would want to be cheaper than that one.

yeah not really looking at the newer options as this is one with a ready to go loom(and maps for 944 turbo), and yes price would have to be right. just interested in if it is a good unit and what anyone who has used it thinks. Also what would be a fair price etc
cheers

I think Scott and Rod have answered this pretty well but I'd also ask what is the next level you want to go to with your car Bruce? If this package is really attractively priced it may be hard to resist but on the other hand, don't buy it just because it's a bargain. Even if it has existing maps, what are the similarities in terms of hardware on the two cars? May require a totally new tune...which doesn't have to be too complicated but it also can be a fairly big can of worms once opened.

Thanks guys. I think I will go a different route. Unit is too expensive(for me) and as I won't be tracking car probably overkill. Think I will go with a rogue set up at some point and keep mods V minor
peace

That seems a sensible idea to me. ;-)
