Default Vacuum System

I haven't posted anything new in a while...been too busy!

Here is a solution to the PIA vacuum lines. A customer's car kept popping off the old stock lines (tired rubber tees and old lines under high heat and boost)

So I came up with a nice solution. These have CNCed connectors that lock on at the vacuum manifold. easy to connect / disconnect and cannot be 'popped off', it looks nice too!

When you rely on your vacuum system for signals to the FPR and MAP sensor this stuff us very critical.

Looks like the same vac manifold I've got. What type of connectors are those?

2nd the question, I have a very similar manifold as well. Do the use slip fit to hard tube like some oem? Either way it looks very clean. Great work as usual.

Its an SFR intake made for the 928 throttle body with an adapter to my favorite 65mm throttle body (won't work with stock DME due to TPS - I use these with the Electromotive systems)

I'll leave the parts sales to the guys that do that best! I would rather be building / testing / or just plain driving stuff instead of putting things into brown boxes and shipping them out!

Here is the 'secret' on the parts - the manifold is something I picked up on Ebay for around $30 (new) - you can find a ton of them out there and since its just a block of machine aluminum with some fittings you can't really screw it up! The hose connectors are made by an outfit that really needs to rethink their name/marketing...."Hose Candy"! it turns out to be really good quality stuff but its available in lots of ugly colors! All the vacuum line is the cloth braided German stuff. While I do like the idea of the hard plastic vacuum lines they can be a bitch to keep connected in an engine that runs high boost and sees some high under hood temps.

You can't pull this stuff apart even with pliers! The locking technology is very similar to the medical IV connectors.

After installing this set up I saw an inch or two more vacuum on the gauge and MAP sensor - just from better sealing!

You need one of those new fangled Printers Mr White. Still, all in all, I'd rather have Metallic Tubing and be done with the plastic and rubber, ... ya, ... three times the install pain, but one and done.

I contemplated that once....and then I realized that I always seem to be taking things apart and dealing with the metal lines each time could be a pain!

Ya. not something I'd what to do for someone else eather. btw, if your still in this neck of the woods, see if you can make it up to I-90 for the return trip. Repatriation of the Autobahn Engineer's had them building the crossing of the Rockie's, dang good job they did I'd say, you'll be regretting bringing the Audi instead of the 951.

Right. Looked as if the runners were slightly longer than I'd seen on other examples but perhaps it's just the angle.

I thought the same.
Sean's seems to be shorter, with a larger plenum, but I suppose the 16V head is too wide to allow for the same maximum runner length possible as on the 8V head though.

Comparing the pic taken from above the engine with my (different) intake, runners here are "slightly" longer.
