The "dose" is very distinctive to a VL Turbo. If you own a VL turbo, it needs to dose. If it doesn't, it really doesn't sound right.

I did it to my 944 once. I got bored one day and played with different size pipes on the intake side of the turbo. length and ID.

NGR Turbo Filter

If you need a new Blow Off Valve, you can consider getting it from this store ( https://www.ngrperformance.com/products/tsbov-pu ). I also purchased one from here, and I'm pleased with its quality. It's currently in use in my car, and I find it to be of excellent quality.
