Default Custom exhaust building help & pointers

Hi guys, Im going to have to get going on my custom exhaust. First question, is feed back on a cheap way to cleanly cut the pipes. Im just working on the turbo back.
I have a chop saw, but the abrasive blade is just too nasty a cut. can it be done with a different blade?

Im just going to Mig tack it then have a pro Tig it.

any other tips? and cheapest place to get stainless and merge Y collectors?

to cut it, mark it straight and use an angle grinder. Use a flap disc to clean it up.

Just weld it yourself with a MIG. you can always clean up the welds with a flap disc.
Make sure the gas us pure argon and you have stainless wire.

Not sure why you'd need a Y collector for?

Yeah I We'll see, howit goes, I guess I could mig it all but, depends on how it goes.

Y collector is part of my custom design, will show when its done (if ever)

I am puzzled, a regular hotsaw cuts just fine, you can clean it with a file and make sure it is completely degreased and clean when you start welding.

To weld stainless with a Mig you need a stainless wire spool and tri gas mix.

You should also backpurge or you can use Solar flux.

Just built my exhaust system using a combination of cut off wheel and chopsaw. It would have been very difficult getting straight cuts without the chopsaw but small sections cant be cut at angles, thats when I used a cutoff wheel.

Regarding dirty cuts, just use a Dremel or die grinder to clean up the dirty edges.

I picked up all my bends on Ebay, you can also try your local exhaust shop but they may charge you a premium.

The guy that built mine used a band saw and a belt sander to make the cuts smooth

You can buy a decent bandsaw from lowes etc but you'll need a fine tooth blade which can be the hard part. I've built them using a chop saw and 3" belt sander you just have to go slow. Definately need solar flux esp if your gonna tig it. Thoroughly degrease the pipes beforehand as well if you really want great welds.

I used a cut-off saw from Harbor Freight. Used it for my modified crossover, downpipe, and exhaust. Worked quite well, pretty easy cleanup with a file if you cut slowly. Cannot beat the price!
