Default new / replacement O2 sensor -- pro tip

new, oem ones go for between $140 and $200 (pelican parts, 944online, porsche dealer prices).

then i did a little homework and found out that it's a universal bosch 3 wire.

http://www.the944.com/oxygen.htm

they mention paragon had a kit, so, i checked them out and found this for $60:

https://www.paragon-products.com/3-w...osch_15726.htm

then, on a whim i did a quick search on the bosch OEM short part number and found what i ended up buying for $80:

Amazon.com: Bosch 13012 Oxygen Sensor, OE Type Fitment: Automotive Amazon.com: Bosch 13012 Oxygen Sensor, OE Type Fitment: Automotive

yeah, i paid $20 more than the one from paragon, but no splicing required!

hopefully this helps anyone else needing to replace the O2 sensor... i'm really happy i saved 50% of what i initially thought i'd have to pay.

Wish I had known about this before my last smog check. I went with the universal kit (i.e. splicing) and don't like it at all.

The only thing you have to worry about now when buying random things on Amazon that aren't fulfilled by Amazon is that you may get a Chinese knock-off part. Not saying that's what this is, but Amazon is basically AlibabaExpress at this point.
