So yeah, just as the title says. What's the best way to do it? TIA!

I guess that I should add that I'm repairing the freakin door handle and I'm NOT going to do that screw driver, through the freakin doorifice, method again!

remove is a piece of cake, for re install you will need two people, to have some company for the long hours and all the cusing that is going to follow

Ugh...I can't remember, but I think the connector for the mirror is located inside the door, and you would need to remove the pins from it to remove the mirror.

Don't quote me on it tho...Trying to go off of memory from 3+ years ago.

Okay, there has to be a way to gain access to the ball joint for the door handle, without trying to force the fitting on with a screw driver, through the freaking door handle slot. A couple 3 years ago, I was having an alignment done, and realized I was too pissed off at the damn door to keep fighting with it. The dude at the shop said he would do it for 25 bucks, so I let him. It took him 20 minutes. SO there MUST be an easy way to get door/window crap out of the way to easily attach the piece and re-attach the door/window crap, that was moved.
Now, the question is what the hell is it? Someone here, on the list, has done it this way, but I can't remember who it was.

Okay, so how do you remove it?
I can't find the bolt that holds the track. This pics in the PET and the manual are not helpful.

Keep the window in, remove the slider for the window, there is a bolt at the bottom of the door. If you remove it you'll have plenty of room to work with!

Elliot, might be worth going back to the guy who did it last time and paying him a bit more to show you how I got a feeling you may have moved since then so might not be a plan but $25 seems like a great deal.

Eliot, I had to do this job not too long ago on my 951. To pull the window, you have to remove the bolts holding the window regulator/motor in place and then just pull it up. I'm not over-simplifying either, it's really quick. Once you do that, there is a small 8mm head bolt at the bottom of the rear window track and another at the top where it meets the upper door/window track. You'll have to pry the rubber up about an 1" to gain access to that bolt. Remove the rear window track and now you've go so much access to the rear of the door handle you can get elbow deep in there, even if you have gorilla hands. I know it seems like a lot of *** pain to remove/reinstall all of those components but trust me, it beats fighting with a big damned screwdriver in a small space for 2 hours.
