Default Torsion Bar Removal Need Help...Not lining up like it should

So I am trying to bolt everything back up and it seems like the torsion tube is sitting too far towards the rear. Am I missing something here?...

Take a look at the pictures and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to finish the car and get it off the jack stands.

Thanks guys!!!

There are retaining hooks on both the torsion tube and torque tube that have to line up. Are you sure they are not catching on each other? It's quite a bit of work to get them to line up.

If its not that then I would suggest all the dirt on your rear suspension is the problem Geez that is one dirty rear end.

I went thru this a year ago. ALL the bolts/fasteners should be as loose as possible until all are in place (especially the two at the midpoint of the blade in your pic). I used 4 jacks (I think 3 of them were scissor jacks) one under each large bushing at the front corners, and one under each brake rotor. Lots of adjusting with small crowbars and larger screwdrivers. Many bad words.

As stated above... also, I had success with the suspension mounts removed from the chassis, attached to the suspension arms then rotating, fanagaling the entire unit into position. Only one of the upper torsion arm bolts required a pry bar to fit.

I had trouble as well. I used to jack up on the rear arm but without bars, its just flimsy so I couldn't.
