I bought an S2 trans from Lart back in.... September? Just got it installed a month ago. Haven't driven on it yet.

Sometimes, delays happen and priorities get changed.

I've had very good experiences buying used parts from Lart.

Jim - you are going to love the S2 trans at Road America. No more dropping down to second and turn one can be taken in 4th.

Refunded the guy today, tranny was damaged as he had stated, the damaged wasn't caused by the transmission being operated under normal condition or wear or even abuse, but more likely from someone( The Seller, who else can we blame) dropping the tranny or dropping something on top of the tranny , i'll take the blame, after all what do I know about 944's, what experience do I have, to test or even pull trannies out without damaging them right., can even do a council man job without being blamed.

Like I said many times when I dropped it off, nobody's blaming anyone.
**** happens and things get messed up. I know we didn't break it, and you know you didn't break it. Soooo...maybe this transaxle will show up on "Unsolved Mysteries" someday.

Ultimately, the issue wasn't about it being broken, it was the communication problems after the agreed-to meeting where we would swap/refund the trans. Benino drove up to LA to the agreed meeting place and time and nobody was there. No calls or texts were answered after that _until_ this thread was posted. All I've heard was you we're 'in trial'. Does that preclude responding to a single text or email or PM to cancel the meeting when there were 2 or 3 days to do so?

In fact between us, we've driven ~550 miles to LA and back for this transmission and still are right back where we started.

Yup. This post describe the problem exactly.

When I asked Lart if he had a transmission he responded with a price and a statement that it came "with 90 days warranty", without me asking for one. There was no issue with that when I called and described the problem, and I wasn't upset about the problem.

The only issue was being stood up for the meeting that I drove up to Chino for, and then not responded to for almost a full week of continued communications on my end, until I made this thread. Then of course there was a response within an hour.

I'm glad Lart followed through with the refund he promised. Obviously he is generally a good person to do business with and my experience with the lack of communication seems to be a bit of an anomaly. Thanks everyone for your responses.
