Default MBC with new dual port waste gate, will boost need adjusting?

The wastegate went south on my 86 951. I purchased a Lindsey dual port wastegate to replace it. The previous owner already had a manual boost controller and chip equiped on the car. My question is once I replace the wastegate and run the vacuum lines from the current boost controller per Lindsey instructions, will the new wastegate hold the same boost levels as the old stock unit (if i leave the current MBC setting untouched)? Or do I need to reset the boost levels using the MBC?

A boost gage and AFM is on my list of things to buy, just curious if the boost levels will change with the wastegate swap.

TIA

Anton

Probably it will require some adjustment. The waste gate has a spring inside. Depending on what spring value you got with the LR waste gate it is in all probability going to be different than the one in your old one.

Thanks. Thought so. Think I will get a boost gage and confirm/match previous boost levels.
