I'm getting a bit sick of a bunch of wires hanging out of the cig lighter socket!
Where is the best location to tap into ignition on power? I pulled the fuse box module out, and was of course confronted with a million wires. I thought I could jump a lead from the dme relay to a new relay to control the wbo2 power, but I have no idea how to even do this without cutting and splicing wires ( if I can find the right wire!).
And by best place, I mean easiest!
Thanks

i don't have stock wiring anymore, but are there any unused fuse holders in the box that have ignition power? I seem to remember there were a couple you could tap.Check with a meter.

Any idea how you connect to them? Do you have to split the fuse box. The connections look complicated. Seems to have a series of plugs at the bottom. How do you access the bottom of the fuses?
In any case, the spare fuses are not really suitable, as I don't think they would have ignition on power feeding them?
I might just have to tap terminal 15 from the ignition key for the relay feed. Didn't really want to have to do that.

You just tap into the fuse slot from the top. You can buy ready made taps which include a fuse, or just make your own. A few different types available. you might find them at Jaycar, otherwise on Ebay. You get to the bottom of the fuses by removing the whole panel from the top, but I wouldn't bother.

I should have mentioned you can use an existing fuse also with some of these adapters (like the one above) which doubles the slot. So you could maybe use the fuel pump slot or something similar.

I installed an aux fuse panel in the drivers footwell, the relay is triggered off the Molex plug that I have soldered into the main harness for my knock counter. I hate hacking up a good wire if I don't have to so I installed this without cutting anything. Power is fed from one of the lugs on the fusebox where the stock +12v connects. The strip on the plastic cover in the footwell is for grounds, though it currently isn't in use. When I came up with this solution I was planning for a few more circuits than I actually ended up running so it's completely overbuilt.
A horrible blurry picture that I took by sticking my camera phone in the footwell and didn't bother focusing or aiming:

You can put a bullet connector on a wire and plug the wire into the power pin on the diagnostic port under the hood, or in the diagnostic connector in the passenger footwell (attached to the back of the glove box on early cars, or attached to the corner of the DME bracket on late cars).
