Seems like a great solution for #2 bearing failure, allowing more oil to be spun (for lack of a better word) out to the rod bearings.

The standard main bearings already have a groove like that.
Didn't know that. I'll be dissassembling my engine in a few weeks for a bottom end rebuild.
So, stock main bearings have the oil groove? Has it always been this way?
