The 928 was nice but that 944 was more convincing... and final.

Haha, love that quote.

As for the 968 gearing on a turbo car...you will get through those gears very quickly. Very similar to a 951 5 speed with the S2 R/Pinion.

OK I'm gonna say it: I wasn't that impressed with the 951...

Yes, it's fast as F*** -- really fun to watch it just destroy the pack with SHEEERRRR POWAAHHHH, but its cornering speeds are nothing to get excited about. Many of the other cars around it are easily better. Not to mention its braking at Monza was nothing special.

I do wonder if it's the driver, though. That car has such on/off turbo lag that the driver is getting on the gas way too late exiting corners. He's doing the "corvette point-and-shoot" method of driving: drive *just* fast enough through the corners, wait til you've exited and are pointed straight, and MASH THE GAS.

Did enjoy all the videos though, including the 928. I always enjoy watching someone plow through the back of the pack; not to mention you have to love the way that 928 sounds.

Not sure I totally agree Colin. Video can be misleading. People behind always look like they're catching up in the corners as you're braking first and they're still flat out wot. I think in the Monza video we are so used to seeing F1 cars there with stupid cornering speeds that by comparison any other car will look slow. I'd not noticed how many slow/tight corners were at Monza before and to your point, I think this guy's car is a bit laggy out of those low geared corner exits which adds to the appearance that he's not carrying much speed. Looks like he could brake a little bit later but I've learned not to be too critical of other's videos as I realise mine don't convey the speed, camber, elevation or surface of the track that I feel when driving.

Maybe he had all of his money invested in the motor and very little in the brakes and suspension which led to his point and squirt driving style?

sometimes i feel like if iam dealing with teenagers, take a moment and look at the first video and you will see that the front camera shows a discrepancy compared to the rear, but just to make sure he is not taking turns like a granny check this video out same car qualifying lap but different perspective

and when I see a video of the ones that said is slow moving faster than this guy I will shut up.

Yep, I agree Luis. There's nothing wrong with the corner speed here. The car comes onto boost nicely too. Seems good to me.

WTF? Your video shows the 944 keeping up with one old 911 thru the turns. I feel like many others that the cars advantage is a hp advantage.

all original 928 owners were fat, passing midlife etc.

the new owners nowadays are a far better mix of scoundrels.

Lol, you have no idea what a qualifying lap is rolfmao, i bet my last ball that you didn't watch the whole video, for your information the first section of the video they are warming the tires did you see the sway motion? that's typical of a race car oh sorry I just noticed you have a 928 that's why you dont understand a 928 is the Sedan D'ville of Porsche.

also in the words of 333pg333 aka Patrick's parrot this is what I said after reading your illuminating comment
