Any recommendations where to take my 944S2 for service in the Orlando area?

Your car will not know how to act down there. Save a ton of money and do the work yourself. Buy a WSM on CD and have a go. Enjoy the weather, the birds are smarter than people as they all fly south for the winter.

Cheers,

I just moved from Chicago down to Daytona Beach and have been asking the same question. Who did you have service your car in Chicago?

I do all my own work but was looking for a shop that could take care of my car when I don't have time. Ive been recommended to Nort Northam in Orlando if I did need service. I went by his shop the other day and they had a nice 944 Turbo race car as well as a real nice slantnose in the lot. It would be worth checking out. His # is 407-647-1911.

Nort is good, and there is also Zotz Garage which I believe was renamed to German Excellence. There are one or two more but my 951 has only been worked on by myself and the hack that the PO used. That said, mine has also been sitting for nearly 2 years

I second both Nort and Zotz. Ive used Zotz when I was down there with family. EXPENSIVE! But top notch work. But to be honest, if it's not heavily modified, just find the best reviewed, ase certified or foreign shop and they should get the job done for you. Oh, and if you have kids, Dr Phillips area is the best school district. Even without kids, it's a great area. Good luck.

I have a deal worked out with Rizza Porsche in Orland Park because I manage the MB store and we help each other out.

What part of Orlando are you moving to?

I've worked for several years at both Zotz Garage (currently named German Excellence) and the Nort Notham Collection. I think you will find both shops offer top-quality service and repair, but German Excellence can probably get you in-and-out quicker because they are a full scale service shop, whereas Nort's is moreso a sales lot, with a full time Benz tech and an on-call Porsche tech.

There are a handful of other great shops in town that I can recommend depending on where you plan on living.

I moved out of state last year and I miss Orlando dearly, but I'll be in town February 1-3 weekend and I'm hosting a 944 group cruise on the 2nd down to Sebring to spectate the PCA races on Feb 2nd. If you are free that day, you ought to join us and get to know some of the local 944 guys.

Joe,
dfastest951,
bring that turbo back down to sandlake road! The area is full of new bars and restaurants, totally different when you were here.
regards,
Mike

Elliott,
Sounds great! I probably will have the 944 on a Uhaul trailer down there about mid-Feb however.
I will be down the week of the 21st to find a home SW Orlando: Nona, Windermere, Dr. Phillips.
I will be at MB of South Orlando, so I am looking for a 30 minute or less commute.
Looking forward to being able to drive and clean my car year-round!

I disagree about Norts.

Zotz is good but the best shop by far is Redbone Garage. Speak to Robyn.

They are the shop other shops go to when they screw up or can't figure something out.

Todd, Redbone unfortunately closed doors late last year. Last I heard Robin was looking to join up with EuroTech or another shop around town but that was a while back and I don't know what the current situation is.

I remember late night WOT runs on the 419. No traffic, no cops and just long straight Autobahn highway. Good times. Lol

I'm hoping to find a nice stretch of road that will allow a little spirited driving to and from work!
