Default VDO Electric oil pressure gauge - can I just tap off the factory sender?

I have a VDO electric oil pressure gauge; want to connect it in.

Factory dash gauges are VDO. Factory sender off the oil cooler housing is VDO.

What do you think? Can I just wire up the VDO gauge to the factory sender? Anyone tried this?

Agree you loose the benefit of a second, independent sender with this approach but short of Chris White's prosport plate approach, not sure there is a good way to connect a second sender.

Thoughts?

This is what I used from Lindsey Racing - http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/944OILADAPT.html

You have to take your power steering pump out to get it installed. The nice thing is you can keep the stock pressure sensor and add a more accurate gauge.

I looked at the plates but I didn't like them.

I did look at that but it's for a mechanical gauge. Is there room for another electrical sender if you use one of these?
