1) The torsion tube carrier solid bushings if you don't have them already:

2) Either stock (stock can be used... but why?) or solid upper torsion tube carrier block mounts if you don't have them already.l

*** I can supply a new set of these for $100 ***

Well, I like cool stuff. Not sure I can justify to myself purchasing though. My 944 is an LSx (in process) but will never see the track.

Are there any real racers left out there?

This is a must have item if you're serious about the track.

New. With solid mounts.

This will... for sure..... reduce lap times and make your life 100000000000000x easier to align the rear of the car properly.

Yes. At least......

After spending years swearing at Porsche for making a suspension where the camber and toe are tied in together, one affecting the other..... this because every time you try to align the rear of the car it's a full on 4 hour job (at least)....... it's a God send to have a setup that isolates the two alignment adjustments.

Not to mention the corrected suspension geometry or the spherical joints.

My understanding is that it also helps a little by adjusting the movement of the rear wheel to be a bit more up and down rather than up and forwards/in ?

Yes... in a way.

As the wheel moves up it toes in, cambers in, and moves forward. The more the wheel moves up, the more those things happen. It's not a linear movement with respect to those changes.

So if you lower the car from stock ride height at x height, say 2"... then the x-2" becomes your new ride height.

The problem is that your control arm is now at an angle as its 2" into the wheel travel... just sitting there at the new ride height.

From there, as you accelerate, the rear end squats and the control arm moves up further in its arc. When this happens, the toe and camber change is greater than it would be if the car hadn't been lowered.

This because, for example, the car squatted 1" every time you accelerate coming out of a certain corner (I'm using fake numbers...).... The wheel is now 3" into it's wheel arc and is producing toe and camber changes associated with the wheel position being 3" into its arc.

HAD THE CAR NOT BEEN LOWERED.... The same scenario of the car squatting 1" coming out of the same corner, would mean that the wheel is only 1" into its arc. And accordingly the camber and toe changes would reflect that.

And again... as the wheel moves through its arc... the toe and camber changes are not linear. The more it moves through it's arc... the greater the toe and camber change.

What's the solution?

Move the pivot point on the control arm up.

Moving the pivot point up on the lowered car relocates the trailing arm so that it is now back... to the non-lowered car angle.

Now in that same scenario.... the lowered car, squatting 1" coming out of the corner, will behave like it's 1" into the wheel arc rather than 3" into the wheel arc... and the car will have a lot less camber and toe change as a result.

This is why this piece is so important in racing.

Now couple that with the ability to adjust the toe separate from the camber... and your racing life just got a whole lot better.

That's pretty much bang on Tony. Had I not put one in two years ago I would be all over this. (You're still the devil.)

Hey... yes... that's the deal for sure.

On another note... I had to delete all of my PM's due to some mix up in my Rennlist account and my mail box, all of a sudden... being over flowing by like 700 messages.

I'm getting ready to send you the transmission, but I no longer have your PM with your storage facility address due to me having to delete all of my messages.

Can you PM me the address of the storage facility again with the phone number there?

Thanks...

I think it's sold based on a conversation last night. I was told to set it aside through the weekend.

I'll post if it becomes available.

PS> your car looks great.
