Default Need a new coolant flange for the back of the cylinder head...

Does anyone know where to get the flange pictured below (it has the blue dot on it)? Have everything apart for my head job and the flange on my engine is really rough, corrosion is past what I'd feel comfortable using. There seems to be no number for the part in PET and none of the usualy vendors seem to have it...

944 online has them for around $100 new. http://944online.com/cgi-bin/ASI_Sto...skukey_1000867 P/N is 944 104 317 04

There is a second version that doesn't have the boss for the thermovalve that was used on the regular 944. If you remove the evap system you could get that version and eliminate one more potential leak point. P/N for the regular 944 is the same as above but change the two digits from 04 to 05.

Edit: That said, I'm also looking for one. A used non-turbo version if someone has one in their spare parts collection.

Here's that rad cap I mentioned in the email. Might help slow the corrosion for non-glycol coolant.

Related question -- I'm bypassing my heater core - but want to not block off the rear of the head.

What do I do with this vacuum connections to the heater valve? shown in the picture above? green dot.

thanks,

mike

That has nothing to do with the heater core/heater vacuum. It's a thermoswitch that allows vacuum to be regulated for the Evap system only at certain coolant temps.

I have plenty of these around and could do a lot better than $100 Not to mention that Sonnen Porsche has them brand new for $61.42 - part number 944 104 317 05.
