Default Poly-Bronze Spring Plate Bearing/Bushings

Who here has done them, how hard were they to do, and any tips? More importantly, how well do they work?

I think Van put them on his race car.

I'm about to do them on mine.

I've only installed the Delrin bushings. But while you're in there you should do the lower torsion tube carrier bushings and the upper torsion carrier bushings.... and obviously the rear trailing arm bushings.

The rear trailing arm bushings can be done at a later date though as you can do them without disturbing the alignment or having to mess with the torsion tube carrier.

I did them when I deleted T-Bars. Took some quality time with a torch to get the rubber parts off. Never took the rear carrier completely out, unbolted and pulled down one side at a time. Probably spent 8 hours on it. I have to grease mine a couple times a year to keep them quiet. I have had no problems with mine.

Yes, I had them on my turbo for several years and liked them very much.

Do a search for "tiki torches" and you'll find my write up (I don't recall if it's in the turbo or NA forum).

Rustled Van's thread up, as this is of interest to me as well.

Anyone have any concerns regarding ride quality deteriorating with the polybronze bushes?

One tip. Be careful where you drill and tap for the grease nipple. Make sure it isn't in a spot where it can interfere with the suspension or can't be reached easily.
