Default Fuel pressure damper?

How can i check if the fuel pressure damper (in the right side of the rail) is good working?
If it's not good working, which are the symptoms?
I changed the fuel pressure regulator, but not the damper...

When it fails it can leak fuel through the vacuum port.

If it's not leaking means that is it good?

Took mine off too.

Fuel pump knocks around a lot now. Can't imagine this is good long-term for the pump. Will figure out what to do with my failed jumper line and put it back in this weekend most likely.
