What resonator are you running? I have the Lindsey 3" and am currently running the cat but would like to run a resonator most of the time (ok, all the time except once every two years).

While I am not a fan of car sounds (from within the cabin), I've been told more than once (including from a Boxster Spyder) that my car sounded great (on the track).

I have the 3" Fabspeed on one car and the 4" LR with Magnaflow on the other. However that car is not running yet, so can't comment on sound. The Fabspeed sounds and looks great without a cat. It is not loud in the cabin. The appearance of the Fabspeed can't be matched by anything else I have seen on the market. I installed it by myself on my back with jack stands in less than 3 hours including removing the original. I would highly reccomend this exhaust.

Borla usually has a raspier sounding note while magnaflow is more of a smooth brap

My 4" magnaflow almost sounds like a 5 cylinder

Speaking of emission laws, I've been told that cars 25 years old or older no longer have to pass emission tests. I live in Georgia and have tried searching for information on this, but can't find anything. Is this at least true for Georgia? Are there any states that don't allow this?

In Virginia if you register it as an "Antique Vehicle" then you are done with emissions. And you get a special tag. If you run a standard tag you don't have to have emissions on a scheduled basis but are subject to roadside testing in which you get a letter from DEQ telling you to present your vehicle for inspection. Vehicles that go back to 1968 production are eligible for that.

We don't have any of that down here - only the annual safety inspection (no emissions testing).

I currently have a 3" Borla xr-1 and will be switching to something less aggressive at some point soon. I also don't run a cat or any other resonator and may try resonator prior to ditching the Borla. I live in a rural area and if I go to play or make a couple wot pulls everyone in a 2 sq mile radius knows.

I ran a magnaflow on a Lindsey 3" exhaust prior and it was not near as loud, and may have had a little less cabin drone.

I ended up going for the Magnaflow. As it turns out, the old muffler was an Edlebrock. The car is signficantly quiter now. Thanks for the input.

How about a magnaflow for the resonator and a borla for the muffler. Or the other way around. One could use v band clamp flanges and cut the mufflers at the same length. Just an idea.

I have a 3" fabspeed testpipe with a sfr catback and a borla xr-1 muffler.
I used to love it but decided to get rid of the radio and place a lcd touch screen there instead to do road tuning and datalogging .
I did 1000km and after that the drone at 3000rpm highwayspeeds started to drive me crazy .
I am getting a BIG resonator for my car , maybe i am just getting older who knows

Thank you very much for the kind words! We take great pride in our systems, and i have been a huge fan out of 944T system from the moment I started at Fabspeed. Enjoy the upgrade, and let me know if there is anything else I can help you with
