Couple that with new upgrades, I'm already getting ready to send money to my attorney on retainer.

However, Lee, that lazer jammer looks pretty cool. My questions is, can they detect them? Can it work with a Valentine 1 radar detector without diminshinge the other's capability?
Sounds like a good story, lets hear it. I have a few evading stories with the 951 from a few years ago, but I never got arrested for speeding.

I'd frame that 156 in a 35 ticket and hang it up if I were you.

I dont see why you'd have to hide it in Nevada, they're totally legal. But, from what I understand, they are heavily "frowned upon" by law enforcement. I couldnt care less about the police officer's feelings when he's about to ruin my weekend with a ticket, and then make me lose a day of work to go to court with a lawyer...

So im not sure if they are detectable by means of an electronic device, I think its more of common sense kind of thing. Lets say he's been using the laser all week, and it hasnt failed once. Now you blow by at 150+, and he cant get a reading. He pulls you over anyway, and starts asking questions.

So heres what you're best off doing. Lets say you're speeding and you get lasered by a cop, you have two options. You can set it so that it only jams the laser for 8-9 secs ( which should be enough to slow down ) and then it stops jamming so that the operator gets a speed reading. Or you can set it so it never stops jamming, but its recommended you slow down and turn it off before you pass the cop.

The unit I bought from Laser Interceptor is compatible with a Valentine V1, all you'd have to do is some simple wiring.

It saved my *** last night on RT 23N here in NJ. At the bottom of a hill, There was one cop outside of his car in a parking lot, and another one in his car ready to chase. I blew by in the right lane at 25 over. The jammer went off, I slammed on the brakes, and passed by at 50. The cop came out tailgated me for 2 miles, so im sure I pissed him off.

That is so true! When my car was off the road, i drove around a ED falcon.. it was a bucket of **** we picked up for 400.. it did me good, didn't cause me to speed nothing.. we got rid of that because the tranny went, wouldn't move from 1st gear.. After that i drove the work ute around (mazda bravo) and that had no ***** what so ever so i just cruised if i could even get to the speed limit..

With the 951 i usually am under the limit (the case of my speedo being out too) but when i give it a boot full, i urge to take my foot off knowing i'll get in trouble but i happen to keep it planted for another 2-3 seconds.

There has been a case a few weeks ago i came around a corner and the street was dead... so i gave it a push and got to 80 km/h in 2nd.. (50km/h road) past a cop car in a side street. i slammed my brakes but 'she' saw me do it and pulled me over.
comes to my window and asked for my licence and says do you know why i pulled you over" i responded to "yeah, i was speeding" Officer: "do you know how fast you're going" Me: "yeah about 80 km/h" she didn't really say much after just gave me the 'your an idiot' look and then said "look this is your only warning, just don't let me catch you speeding again"
Nice lady cop she was.

Something weird is going on in Idaho, I have Front/Rear Laser/Radar detection which normally gives me 20 seconds before the max 'legal' range of the emitter is entered, but lately I've been hit with a 'Sidescan' - just me and an unmarked, on a empty four laner, traveling in opposite directions, no Alerts, then BAM, full strength floodlight just as we pass, LE had nothing in his hands. Guess this is the evolution of the 'instant-on' with no car parked on the side of the road, no down range weak signal warning since its 90* to the traffic, and no fuss for LE.

I am trying to look for this pic I have of me with a cop after I got pulled over. He posed, smiled, and everything. Nicest guy ever. Not always the case though.

So my 156mph in a 35 bust story went like this.

I was driving around Vegas late at night. 2am ish. Running around Vegas going on calls for my now infamous male escort career. There is a stretch of road from Paradise near the airport on Tropicana, heading for the strip. The airport owns all the dirt so there's no traffic to come out from any corner, just a nice straight strip of road. I just got a call for a "gig" for a woman who was looking for some company in one of the casino's. So I just let it rip since the city was a bit dead compared to most other nights. And the customer was ready now. I swear I didn't see anyone. But as I'm in fifth, flying up Tropicana towards the strip, I see the red and blue's in my mirror. Now I'm on my way to a job, speedo is showing close to the limit, and if I get caught, I know it's going to be a hell of a ticket at best. Probably going downtown. I'm now moving faster than the plane on my left as it lifts off, cops behind me and the strip is coming fast. Coming faster is the entrance to the MGM valet and parking garage. I know the strip like the back of my hand. My only chance was to dip into the garage entrance and come out the other side of it, entering the strip.

I slam on the brakes, and make a hard right, all four wheels drift, tires screaming, and sheer luck keeping me in this professional looking drift that would make Ken Block proud. The cop tries to follow. As I dip into the garage, I look into my rear view to see the cop not quite make the entrance. He jumps the curb and narrowly missed the cement wall with the entrance sign on it. So now, I know he's beyond pissed. There's no way I can say I wasn't trying to evade at this point. I drive as fast as I can throught a lane in the garage. I come out the other side, and I'm actually getting away from him. It seemed he took a few seconds to get his bearings after nearly crashing into the wall and was slowly drving over the curb again to continue pursuit.

As I come out the other side of the garage, the cop is nowhere in sight. There is a side street between the MGM and the parking garage over the movie theaters on the strip. I'm coming up that fast. I can smell the freedom, I'm gonna make this call, and make some cash. Wrong! My little auto cross through the MGM property just happened to coincide with shift change. I have to slam on my brakes a second time as all these casino workers dart out onto the cross walk. Longest 20 seconds or so of my life. Cop finally shows up, guns drawn, and MGM employees and tourists alike start pulling out their cameras, and start snapping pics like I'm some a list celeb on the red carpet.

I'd be more humiliated if I wasn't so scared. So I have this cop, weapon drawn, swearing at me, demanding me to stay seated, to see both of my hands, and for me to put my keys on top of my car. I didn't want to put them up there as they may scratch the paint. I tried to tell him that but that didn't pan out in my favor either. He can't hear me over his screaming, he thinks I'm now being difficult, so I just throw the keys out into the street. So, he's even more pissed that I'm not following intructions. I'm then instructed to get out of my car, facing opposite of him and back up. As I'm doing this, the flashes from the cameras are makeing me see spots, and I can hear him now calling for a canine unit. He must've thought I was running drugs or something. Makes sense.

He bitch slaps the back of my head as he's grabbing my wrist with some major force and I'm cuffed, and aggravatingly bent over his cruiser. The hood was so hot, I remember it almost burning me. That poor car was working hard to keep up and catch me. If it hadn't been for my great timing during shift change, I'd be long gone.

So, I'm searched. Canine searches my car, and I'm thrown in the back of the cruiser. Smells like homeless people and vomit. No way I'm making this gig, and I can't call anyone as my phone was confiscated. I'm taken down. going through processing. It was a female officer. So I decide to lay on the charm so sweet and thick, you'd think I was a jar of Nutella. I ended up being released on my own recognizense. I collected my belongings, along with a court date. No fine, no idea what I was charged with. Just a court date.

I was so pissed at myself for the shlt I just pulled, that I walked from downtown, all the way to my home around 5am. The last thing I wanted to do was wake anyone up at that time, and I was in no mood to call any of the strippers or hookers I knew to give me a ride home. Cause I wouldn't have made it home. They'd take me back to their place and since I had no car, they know I couldn't leave until they were ready for me to leave. Which normally could be a good thing but after the stunt I just pulled and what I've been through, I was in no mood. The ride downtown, and processing room didn't do anything for my personal hygene either.

In the end, I got ticketed for doing 156 in a 35, and it cost me thousands to get out of it. I had to go pick up my car at the tow yard. I did my best to respectfully tell the cop how much money the car was worth before sending a tow truck, making sure to get a flat bed, and use the tow hook. They did, and the car was cool. I thought lesson learned, but these little damn cars are so fun, about a year later, I started messing with other cars again. And soon enough, I passed another cop on the 215 beltway in the wee hours of the morning, only this time I was surely north of 180mph. Lights when on, he pulled out....and stopped! As he backed back into his hiding spot, he turned off the lights, and at first I thought he just wasn't even going to try. Cause I was moving. Then I realized I had less than three minutes to get lost from the choppers they send out. Another story, for another time. These cars are fun, and no matter what you drive, when you drive a p-car, you know you're driving a different animal. And it seems to bring out the animal in all of us. Deep down, I love that feeling. And I'm glad to have a bunch of crazy nuts just like myself to share some of these experiences with. Cheers guys!

laser and instant on detection basically just let's you know you it's too late!

laser jamming is a whole other deal.

Then again I've heard there is a lot of weirdness in Idaho...isn't that the land of Napoloean Dynamite?

There really are some great places to open her up for sure. My car should be up and running hopefully all tuned with upgrades in the next month or so. After that, maybe I'll see if we can do a get together here in Vegas and run around out here. Between 11pm and 4am or so, there are a lot of people running their cars out here on the beltway. From younger guys in Camaros to old farts in Ferrari's. It's a good time. Plus a Cars and Coffee every Saturday, with the porsche club showing up a lot. It would be cool to have a 944 take over one weekend out here. Lots of drives.
