All done. An electrical job so crude I will not even show pics!! But it seems to work. I'll deal with making it "right" later.

i think hes talking about the o2 sensor wire. car should run with out it plugged in but will run really rich

Exactly, if the car dies with the o2 sensor unplugged, something is wrong.

other then a bad dme what else could go wrong? to rich?

michael, i think your speed and ref sensor wires are the culprit . look into the LR harness

I agree. Ofcourse I thought that's what we were talking about the whole time, so atleast I finally caught up with the rest of the class! First time for everything!

Well the car would not run with the O2 sensor disconnected. And after haveing hard wiring it (cutting the connector out and soldering the wires together) I haven't had any probelms. So I'm not up on what's it's supposed to or not supposed to do but disconnect that O2 connector and it doesn't run.

You do well to go ahead and check the wiring under the reference sensor boots. If they haven't been previously changed since new, you may well not have fixed the problem. It wouldn't be at all unusual for you to have fixed A problem and in doing so happened to nudge one of the sensor wires enough to reconnect it, by accident. They really are often that sensitive. Lart's picture is a very good example of what you will usually find under the boots, especially on the DME side wire, as opposed to the sensor side.
