Default PS hose replacement?

I've got a power steering leak. The pump has been rebuilt, but the hose from reservoir to pump is mushy and disintegrating. I want to replace it. It's got a 1/2" ID at the pump fitting, but 3 local parts stores don't sell 1/2" ID PS hose. All they have is 3/8" ID. They've got general purpose hose in 1/2" ID, but I'm told it's not good for ATF fluid. I decided to buy low pressure hydraulic fluid hose, and it fits the pump fitting perfectly (It's aeven a bit loose, but the hose clamp will fix that), but the reservoir has a .625" OD outlet, with a .699" sealing bump at the tip. The hydraulic hose is supposed to be low pressure, but it has a fabric reinforcing layer and it just won't go over that fitting, even when heated.

Someone said they have 1/2" silicone at $11/foot. I don't mind the price, but does anyone have any suggestions for me? Should I keep on looking for PS hose online (I did see some by Gates)? Is there any non-reinforced hydraulic hose that will expand (IOW, did I just buy the wrong stuff? - I asked for the lowest pressure hose the hydraulic rebuild shop carried).

Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I don't hate OEM, but what I found had the fitting on the end - mine is perfect - so it seems a waste to buy the whole thing. Plus, I might need to replace part of the hose from the cooling coils to the reservoir. That OEM part was $170 as it only came with the coils. I can attach to the coils if I can find the hose.
