My wife and I just received our shipment of two Diono Radian RXT Child Safety Seats which have an extremely narrow base (three fit across the rear of a Civic). To my amazement, they FIT the backseats of the 951.
Finally, finally, FINALLY!

I am 5'10" and can comfortably have my 5 year old sit behind me. The car seats are extremely flexible and support from 5 pounds to 120 lbs. The seats rear-face too, but I doubt you'll be able to do it in the Pcar. We purchased them because we needed an extra set and possible may have a third. Our current Britax Marathon and Recaro are a little wide and won't fit three across the backseat of my e39 530i. And, I am not moving to crossover/minivan status anytime soon.![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
We ordered them from:

Went thru this same dilema too - wish those Diono's were out back then! Lightning - not trying to tell you how to live your life, but I was plain scared to put a rear-facing seat in the front of the 951 (not that I could ever find one that fit...). We're talking the first of the first generation airbags and I've read they're not the safest in combo with the rear facing child seat. Just wanted to mention it, that's all.
Best of luck in your quests, gentlemen!

A few years to late for me... but that is excellent!!
One of the few things about the 944 that could be a deal breaker was not being able to use it with kids.

Kim, I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet, but I do not think it will work. I used a Graco Safe Seat in the front passenger seat of the 951 and it fit perfectly. However, I have an 86 with no airbags which allowed me to have my daughter in the front seat.
This hasn't been my week for cars. The 951 blew a rear tire, and today my Audi decided it wanted to break its serpentine belt. I had to install the seats in the BMW, so it might be a while before I pull them out of the family car. I will tell you, these things sit extremely low and "in" the seat since they do not have a real thick base. The leg clearance increased a good 6" or more in the backseat of the 530i. I am amazed at how much more room there is in the backseat. Still not confident it will work rear facing in the Porsche; rear facing was sort of tight in the BMW.

You are going to have a hard time finding a rear facing seat to go in back seat. I have two different Recaros that fit in the back, forward facing just fine. Sorry I can't be of more help. Also if you do find one that will fit you may have to crawl through the rear hatch with baby in tow to get them properly strapped in.
