And progress continues on the 951:

- Replaced the vac lines and did a venturi delete
- Found two more of the rattles in the engine bay, just one left I think
- AC delete bracket installed
- New tires on the fuchs
- Swapped the bad seat top to the passenger side so at least the drivers seat is nice

Almost ready to be driven on the road, flushing the brake fluid is on tap for this week as is an alignment, after that I hope to be able to put some miles on this car for the first time in a decade.

That's going to be a fun project man. What are you plans for the car long term? Resale? Track?

White fuchs look good it needs to be lowered some.

I am not sure what the long term plans are for this one, she is coming together from the mechanical side of things, still rough around the edges, but it has only been 3 weeks.

Track car seems like the logical landing spot, but I am not sure what that does to my other project. Given how much I change cars it is always possible that a resale is in the not so distant future as well.

Had another mild setback in the progress to getting the car road / track worthy, the power steering pump decided to fall off. Looking at the threads in the mounting hole on the back of the pump it looks like it may have been stripped for quite some time, and just held in place by the nut on the front of the pump and the the adjustment arm (adjustment arm snapped as well). Thankfully I had a spare pump on the other project car and was able to put it all back together.

So I think I am down to just two items before I can put her back on the road, the brakes and an inspection. Both might be taken care of this weekend if all goes according to plan.

Delayed update, but I did get the car inspected and the brakes somewhat sorted about a month back. So she is back on the road and being used at least a couple of times a week. I would be driving her more, but the lack of a radio makes it a bit of a bear for the daily grind. Still I am happy that the car has made it back to road use after a 10 year hiatus.

And because all threads are useless without pictures, here she is with another great 80s ride (sure this one is a 1991, but the styling is pure 80s).

Looking at the driveway, one might think that I love red cars. But I don't. Only two of the three are mine, but the same story applies to all three red cars, they were purchased because they were all for sale for the right price at the right time.

If I could I would exchange the red 951 for a white one, and I would trade the 855R for a black one. Finding the white 951 might the easier half of that equation, but I tend to let the market dictate my puchases so who knows what color the next round of car will be.

601 (classic or signal red) is a good guess, but the R's got a slightly different hue, 609 (bright red). In pictures they look similar, but parked side by side there is a fairly large difference between the two. But my 855 lives outside so it may no longer be quite as bright as it should be, perhaps there is a paint code for faded multi color red?

Are red cars really faster?! I like the white wheels with it. Looks like a cup car.

Keep it up, Ian! Glad to see one of these saved from the brink. Diamond in the rough even, perhaps. I'm also digging the red on white Fuchs- never seen that before. With a tidy tan interior at some point, that thing is going to be a looker.

P.s.: FUEL LINES
