Default east bay, ca 944 specialists

a buddy of mine is seriously considering picking up a nice really 944 s2. i gave him a pretty thorough pre-inspection (interior/body/engine) list and it comes clean. the only thing it seems to need are:
* timing belt/tensioner/pump job
* potential (25%) oil pan gasket
* frankensuspension (good parts up front, not so good in the rear)

he and the car are in the east bay (reverse pig latin: beast) and i'm looking for one of two things:

1) a mechanic to do a PPI (neither porboy's or bauer's: i have had a bad experience at one, and both the PO and friend have had bad experiences at the other)

2) a RLer available and knowledgeable enough to check the car out for me? i'd love to be able to head up, but i have the 24 hours of lemons, burning man, and a track day all happening in the next 6 weeks.

hit me up w/a PM. i'm excited (and mildly jealous) about his car.

btw, my 951 should be smog-ready in less than a week!

thanks man, but he wanted to move fast and took it to a shop in oakland. everything seems good, just a couple of gaskets (like the cam cover) need to be replaced with the timing belt (it's got 20k on it, so might as well).

he bought it today and is hoping to get everything set w/the DMV tomorrow. it's a nice looking ride.

Was it the black S2? I almost bought it.
Belts were replaced 20k ago but it was 11 years ago.

Car was in good shape.
