I got no input on the hardware. But on the conversion... as long as your R12 system is sound I'd stick with but if you have to open it anyawy then it's time to convert to R134.

Out here (NV) no one will touch an R12 system.
Ironically my R12 sytem is still sound...this after sitting for 3 years.
