I picked one up in a similar price range recently. Having grown up somewhat around the p-car community (my dad's first child is a b-body 911), there is a reason I only recently picked up my 951. Prices are low right now, and I would attribute it all to timing. They aren't nostalgic enough yet, and in pretty good supply. Couple that with them being just old enough to be harder to work on, and more sensitive to preventative maintenance, they aren't going to command much money. It's funny everyone else compares it to the 914, because I've always kept my eyes on them as well. They are now getting old enough that they are appreciating, the 944/Turbo will take a bit more time.

Good find, keep her up on maintenance, and keep on driving.

Wow! very nice car for 4K. However, mine was in similar shape and I purchased mine for $4,500 in 2008. Now I have about 12K into it and I do all my own work. I might get between 8-9K for it if I tried to sell it at the moment.

KY944turbonewbie: Yes the 914's up here all rusted out very quickly, especially with our use of road salt in the winter. Supply and demand, like you said.

They are worth more. People just continue to sell them dirt cheap because they are usually pissed and want to just get rid if it.

A decent one is on another thread that sold for 2k. Thats NA or 924 money.

So it keeps driving values down.

Even if you double your "purchase" price with repairs or mods (you will), 951s are still unmatched car for the money. So just enjoy it and don't plan on selling.

Oh, and support the vendors who help us keep these cars on the road.
