Default 944 cam in 951?

Has anyone tried this as a way to increase torque?
Heard this from porsche mechanic..goid...bad?

You won't even feel the difference

I think it was something like 1 degree more overlap

You already have a 944 cam installed. 951's used early N/A cam... Later N/A cam will give some additional ponies, depending what shape your engine is. Overlap is about the same and there was 1mm more lift, was it the intake side, don't remember.

I have a late n/a can in my 87 turbo. Larger exhaust side...I think 1mm more lift. I didn't notice a thing. IMO it's not worth it unless you get a great deal on one of these cams.
