Default HP 18 Racer's Projects

Racer's motor seized, will be comming out soon.

Wrecked white car, damage all cosmetic (I bought it that way) will be motor donor.

G-Machine (my 2.8 turbo street car) looks like it blew the head gasket.

Still considering motor swap plans. Leaning toward moving the g-machine motor to racer, let my son do a track weekend in the white donor car then move its motor to the g-machine.

Also in my shop, replacing head gasket on chump car.

Making canopy frame to get glider project back in the air.

My 928 is parked outside waiting for its turn to get worked on. CIS problem, currently a no start.

Finished head gasket replacement on the G-Machine. Leaving the fuel rail attached to the intake and leaving the headers bolted to the head helps cut down on the opportunities to mess up.

First test drive after the head gasket the car made absolutely zero boost. Came back to my shop, pulled the coupler off the turbo air intake. Put a finger in the turbo and couldn't turn it! Pushed a bit harder, heard a little pop then it spun freely. Another test drive and boost was back to normal.

I should sell something but if I do it won't be the 928. I know, it's a sickness.
Chump running again.
Fixed power steering on my son's 944.
Got the 928 to start last night. It was only 95 last night so I worked on it in the driveway.
Race car motor pull next!

Lots to do still but dry sump is in, ran the motor briefly, all OK. My adjustable front sway bar needs to be modified to fit now. Stock fans don't fit. Relocating oil cooler to passenger's side. Took grinding and sledge hammer adjustment for the tank to fit.

It is the CEP system I bought from Special Tool. Most everything in the engine bay is easier to get at with the low profile pan, no AOS, no oil filter housing.
