Default Braided fuel lines

Hey guys I have been looking at some of the braided fuel line kits, just the engine bay ones and the jumper line, but they seem kind of expensive, is there a way to make up my own kit with off the shelf parts from someone like summit?

Do I need special tools to cut the lines to size? What parts will I need?

Thanks

Kim

You can, but it will cost around the same. Just buy these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-86-8...item3a75ed6b54

I'm not all that crazy about the S/S wire braided fuel lines. You can not inspect them for a leak starting at the connection points until fuel is flowing and creating a fire hazard. S/S Braided Lines add a bling factor, but are primarily to prevent lines from chaffing together. the ones below, IMHO, are a much better set of Fuel Lines to check for leaks.

That looks cool, does it do the Jumper line also?

It looks like you can replace the rubber whenever you want too.

Thanks

But if we didn't care about the bling and appearances, wouldn't we all just be driving 928's???

I have braided lines in my race car, running through the cockpit. Braided lines are not just for looks.

These guys have all kinds of plumbing stuff for race cars. They also will send you a great paper catalog in addition to their online site.

He has the fittings and everything you need to know to for DIY fuel lines. Not sure if it's not easier cheaper to just get the Rennbay kit..but here you go!

If you get SS fuel lines, get insulation for them. It's not only wear that gets the rubber, it's the heat.
