Lart the plates are made of different materials from the vendors. Looks like Stainless steel that pauerman sells is the better quality if the other one is just cold rolled steel

Did you actually read the product advertisement in your link? You said you bought it.

Should i copy and paste the Pauerman product advertisement or should i treat you like an adult and expect you to read it on your own?

I bought the wastegate much before you joined this forum and before sourman copied and stole the design from sfr.

It takes about 5 minutes to design a set of wastegate adapters if you have the OEM gate and an aftermarket one sitting in front of you. Not complicated at all.

To be honest I dont care who copied whos. If SFR would be a reliable vendor, id buy thiers. I do however want the best product.

Considering its just two chunks of metal with a few holes in it, its not like anyone stole someone elses intellectual property. Besides, I know of two different companies that were selling adapter plates before Tim came along.

The best product in this case would probably be the one that is made from a similar material as the Tial body it mates to, so that the expansion characteristics are close. I am not sure I'd choose stainless steel for this reason, the ones made from a standard grade steel are probably a better choice, assuming the Tial body is cast (which I am pretty sure it is).

Caveat, Materials was not the focus of my college engineering school days, so if any one with direct knowledge on this topic wants to chime in, I'd happily let you correct me.

I guess sourman wins hands down according to karlene, sourman with his space rocket technology applied to the design of his wastegates plates has the best product to offer. After all whether ss or not most likely the plates will survive longer than the wastegate itself and longer than the car for sure. In regards to sfr bought some stuff from him lately and came right away, so much for the delay rumor.

Something else to consider: just buy one of the new (and smaller/lighter) Tial V-band setups and take it to your local exhaust shop and have them install it. The kit includes new flanges ready to weld on and would make future disassembly much simpler. Someone on this forum installed one of these within the past year but the name escapes.

Quick Reply: Place to but 38mm Tial kit (not SFR)
