My CS wheels were painted in "anthracite" but it looked pretty much black
I wanted 8 inch front wheels so I got 4 D90s off ebay and had them painted in a 997 metallic grey colour
I have since had the CS wheels painted to match - but haven't snapped pics of them on the car. Its on the to do list.
I have painted a few wheels in the past but for a really good finish with deep lustre I think its worth paying the professionals. $0.02

Well for drifting I need to keep it a bit small in order to spin them faster (less grip and less weight), so I usually run 225/45 or 235/40 if I can find them. The rear cup wheel is 9" wide. But since I so frequently change the rear tires, I've tried experimenting with lots of sizes ranging from 205 up to about 255. It's amazing how different each size feels, not to mention each brand!

the hot ticket for painting wheels these days is to use Plasti-Dip. It's a vinyl spray that requires almost no prep, you hardly even have to clean the wheels, it covers everything and it's thick. Best of all, you can peel it off when you want to change. Guys even "dip" their whole cars! It's not a high gloss though, it's the new matt look. See here: www.dipyourcar.com
