I'm installing a KISS cooler, and understand it will not fill with oil until the thermostat opens. I'd like this to happen with as little load on the engine as possible.

Will an extended idle get oil hot enough to open the thermostat?

your not pre filling the cooler? I pre filled my rad oil cooler combo.
