Default turbo vs turbo S wheel hubs?

looks like I spun the race in my wheel hub. Its a 951 turbo S with antilock brakes. I've read that the 951S hubs are different than 951 hubs (with and without antilock). Can anyone confirm or possibly be able to tell me what part # i need for an 88 turbo S?

Thanks

Yes, they are different. I can look up the part number tomorrow if you still need it then.

I found this:
477 405 065 B front wheel hub -86 944
951 341 056 00 front wheel hub -86 turbo
951 341 065 06 front wheel hub 87-
951 341 065 08 front wheel hub 87- m030

I'm guessing that I would need the m030 ones? seems to be the same number for an s2

Those m030 hubs have gotten really hard to find. I bought a complete turbo S setup from a fellow lister but both hubs he sent me were bent. What I've done is use the turbo S spindles with my stock '87 hubs and add 3mm spacers between hub and rotor. I know this is a hack, but the only other option I found were the Racer's Edge hubs but he's having trouble with his machinist and couldn't get them made at the time. Perhaps he can now.

Does anyone ever remove a race and fix an existing hub?

Any real advantage in having M030 over the TurboS hubs/spindles?

More durable, strong, better bearings....? Or not worth the trouble

I could convert from m030, but would need hubs, spindles, and the adapters to make my big blacks work. kinda why I was hoping to find a hub.

Any thoughts on the racers edge hubs?

M030 S2s used the Turbo S spindle/hub/brake setup, but not the standard S2s (same as stock Turbo w/ ABS).

I had a spun bearing in a hub, and after thinking about ways of "repairing" it, chose to replace it.

The M030 hubs are about 3mm taller/thicker than the non-M030 units. So as mentioned, you can add a machined spacer to a non-M030 hub on a Turbo S spindle & brake caliper (the early 87 Turbo Cup cars were actually setup this way). But should have longer studs to retain full thread engagement on the lug nuts. Turbo S hubs do show up for sale, but are quite a bit more than non-M030 units. And are usually sold in pairs, will be harder to find a single one. RE hubs are certainly a good option, but are not cheap.

Yes, as Oddjob said, they're big $$. And my other concern is that the hub is designed to fail in an incident before damage is done to the spindle. With these stronger hubs, will they still sacrafice themselves to save the rest of the suspension if I whack a curb too hard?

That said, I would still like to go this route.

I have an '88 Turbo S with the m030 option code. I always thought that Torbo S was m030? Is there any difference?
