Default FS: 86 951 engine and turbo

Purchased an 86 951 a couple weeks ago for the purpose of converting it to an electric car. Engine runs great and turbo provides good boost...actually had thoughts of leaving it an ICE, but decided to stick with my plan. The engine is still in the car, so any locals are welcome to come drive it before purchase.

- 128k miles
- no service records (besides oil change done today)
- had an inspection done on the car by local Porsche shop...mechanic said it needs new seals at the front of the engine (leaking small amount of oil) and new belts (one on the outside looked old, so timing belt probably also needs to be done)
- Includes everything under the hood I will no longer need (engine/turbo/boost enhancer/intercooler/radiator/alternator/etc.)
- Ran compression test 6/9/12...140, 145, 144, 145

$1700...if you come and help pull it $1500

Please start a new post with your plans! Why a 951? What are your sources for the parts? Are there other electric conversion 951s out there?

Would you maybe be willing to se certain items? Like that boost controller there by the fuel rail, and do you know of anything else done to the car?

I would much rather sell it as a whole unit, but I will reconsider if I don't get any offers. As far as I know, everything is factory (besides the "boost enhancer").

I will definitely start another post to track the conversion...but it may be on the diyelectriccar forum. I have not yet ordered any parts for the conversion, but I think I'm going to try and keep the performance as good (maybe better ) than a stock 951. There are a few other conversions of 944s on EVAlbum, not sure if they were turbo models or not. I went with the turbo over the N/A for looks and becuase the transmission is beefed up a little and will be able to support the torque.

Can do a swap on your parts request plus some cash. What do you need to get for it

Post a starting price please if you don't mind. I may have a friend interested in it all including the turbo.

After doing some quick research, I would say $1700 is a fair price for the whole lot (everything under the hood I no longer need including engine/turbo/boost enhancer/intercooler/radiator/alternator/ect.). $1500 if you come and help pull it out...

Will also consider some trades + cash...things I need below:

- Big brake kit
- New suspension all around
- New Porsche wheels/tires (I have phone dials)
- Various switches and interior panels/parts
- Pretty much all weather seals
- Windshield with built-in antenna
- Lots of other parts I probably forgot to mention...

Do you really want to be putting big heavy brakes/wheels/tires on an electric car?

Is this going to be one of those where it does 2 pulls at a drag strip then has to be towed home and recharged for a day?
