Wow, $635 -- I paid a few hundred less at Sunset, although it was a long time ago...

Your feedback is much appreciated guys but im hoping to find a used one not being used as much or at all. I can get one shipped for 475 but even that is too much.

Still looking......

There are tools that do the job and are a lot less.

Brian, Thanks again but i have a cricket and other means of determining belt tension, but feel the p9201 is easiest to use from my experiences in the past.

Still looking.....

P920X from Arnnworks is stupid easy. Used it many times. Definitely not worth the money for the "factory" tool. Hell, I don't even believe a tool is necessary, but thats my opinion. Then again, some can't unwrap the word "factory" from anything.

So let me get this straight. You want a rare, expensive tool for next to nothing? Good luck with that.

This is stupid to argue about but i feel compelled to do so...... Yeah I'm bargaining for the best deal i can get for a rare expensive tool. Why not.... The fact is i have a friend/customer wanting his front seals and timing done on his '84 944. Even tho I've proven time and time again that I've timed mine without any issues (twist or cricket), he still wants it p9201 certified. I don't necessarily need it but have always wanted one..... now i have to have one to get paid for my work, and no one even remotely close has one to loan. What you guys are saying has been covered in the past and until you know all the circumstances either help a fellow Rennlister out or stay out.....

if you had this tool in the past then why did u get rid of it. if this dude wants a p9201 certified are you also going to calibrate it when you get it and show its certified? if you drop it or its get banged while shipping its not accurate any more just like a torque wrench.

The tool actually comes with a calibration bar that let's you put it back to factory fresh everytime.

You might check the ads for cars that are for sale. Sometimes you see guys getting out of the 944 hobby, and throwing all their 944 related stuff in with the car--qnd they're probably not getting full value for the tool as a result. Just a thought. Once in a while I've seen the tool come up for sale separately on eBay or the like but not very often.

I never owned one, nor did i mention i ever did. The one im familiar with was owned by.....go figure the gentleman wanting me to do the work. Unfortunately for me he either sold it or misplaced it. Ahhhh the irony. What would be the point of using a tool that was not properly calibrated. Obviously he trusts me enough to do the work most would pay someone else for, but he needs a security blanket and im fine with that. Not only is he looking out for his investment but mine as well. Like i said....I've always wanted one of these but now i need it. Essentially he will pay for the tool with the work i do, but if i get a good deal for one its just that much sweeter. About a month ago when the gentleman required i have the proper tool for the job one went on ebay for 202.++. More irony.....I lost when my phone froze up as i was downloading the re-calibration procedure. Now im being accused of being unrealistic or worse when searching for a good deal. $202.00 was a damn good deal, $400 is a reasonable asking price for a new one, but anything over.... rare or not for a tool most of us know is not needed......at those prices i might as well frame it.
