Default Aftermarket Exhaust

I'm curious what aftermarket exhaust systems that are reccommend by ya'll for a 1987 951. The car looks fast, is fast, but needs to sound fast and sexy too. The stock setup just doesn't do it for me.

Speed Force Racing makes a great stainless steel exahust. I had no fitment issues with mine, 3 inch all the way back with 4.5 inch tip. Also has a swappable cat for a test pipe.

Fabspeed for stainless. Lindsey has some mild steel ones for cheaper.

My SFR is a POS. And they don't believe in customer service after the sale. ****ty exhaust from a ****ty company. The kicker? They don't make it - Fabspeed does. But that isn't an excuse for SFR.

I'm guessing that by "needs to sound fast and sexy" you mean loud.

+ 1 and sounds awesome. Perhaps SFR let their quality slip by cutting corners more recently?

People have recently been having trouble with SFR products. However, the previous quality I knew of was excellent. It's far superior quality and material over the Lindsey exhaust. You get what you pay for. I would look at getting a Fabspeed unit if possible.

I have a lindsey exhaust and works ok. Sounds great and does its job. Some fittment issues, however overall nice unit. I would love to upgrade to a stainless unit some day.

I have heard nothing but good things about Fabspeed also.
Check out some of their youtube videos. They are the best stainless system I've heard!

Ah, the slippery slope!

Around Dallas you can get away with a mild steel system...LR is just up the street in Oklahoma.

My car came with a Fabspeed 3''. I actually visited them in person to make sure it was original (not a knock off) and bought a cat from them (I had the straight pipe). Also got an RL discount (or PCA, I forget, I mentioned both).

That's my car in the 951 Demo video, though the person who made the video put 996 or something odd over it, ha. I think it sounds fine, I'm not a big exhaust guy (doesn't bother me in the car), but at the last DE I had a Boxster Spyder tell me my car sounded awesome... ?
