Default 951 exhaust advice

I need to replace my exhaust and was looking at Lindsey Racing. I don't have to pass emissions anymore so I am going to delete the cat. I track the car but still drive it local for fun. I don't mind it being a little loud.

Do I go 3 or 4 inches as I have heard 5 is overkill. I was going to tie the waste gate to the pipes using the stock down pipe. Borla or magma flow? Any thoughts on what is best to get a little more horsepower?

small turbo = 2 1/2"~2 3/4"... big, (high hp) turbo = 3" single exhaust.

LS racing engine = 3"~3 1/2", single exhaust.

You'll be fine with a 3" exhaust
4" is more for higher horsepower engines flowing more air through the engine and need a way to get the exhaust out!

3 inch would suit you fine and will still work with future upgrades. You could ceramic coat it and gain a little scavenging and have the added corrosion protection and looks if you wanted to spend some money on a 2000F coating. The shop that did my coating said they have seen 10 to 15 hp gains on sprint cars from coatings on a dyno from numerous cars.....I trust their word since they probably done a few hundred cars for people

I have 5 inch on my because I wanted to try it and I have a 3.0L with super75 t4 and a bunch of other stuff. It flows and its a little loud

Magnaflow>Borla

I went with a 4" from axle back because why not. It was a custom exhaust anyway and the old cup cars had them, wouldn't hurt.

If you know someone that can weld you can buy pipe and get your own. I'm on my cell right now but there was an edu for a custom exhaust here on the forum. Depending on your muffler choice you can order all the piping for less than 300.

If it interests you, i will be pulling a complete SFR 3" system off my car this weekend. This is everything from the downpipe back. I also have a bolt in cat section i will throw in.

I much prefer to deal with someone nearby on this so i can meet you half way for delivery..dont want to be bothered shipping. PM me if you are interested.

Not sure what the "car scene" is like up there in CT... but there is an old-school hot rod shop here in Chicago that does a lot of custom exhaust work. Old-school guys running it. Took my car there for a 3" exhaust and Magnaflow muffler - $250.

++1 on the Magnaflow. I got a 2-1/2" setup with a Magnaflow on it from Lart a few years ago and it has a very nice sounding exhaust note - throaty and mellow, not at all raspy.

I have a 3" "cat" back tied into the Burch test pipe (2 1/2"). Nice sound and the car performs great (17psi with a LR53). I could probably pick up some with a full 3". In all fairness I've gotten quite content with the power it makes like it is.

If I was local with TechnoDuck though I'd be all over that full stainless 3" system. Plus since your in the northeast stainless would be smart.
