Default New turbo install, question

Received my turbo from Evergreen Turbo today. Sent off my K26/8 to Charlie a week ago Tuesday, he received it last Thursday - he tore it down and rebuilt the CHRA on Saturday, called me with the results, had to wait for some parts but received those Thursday, shipped it off and I got it today rebuilt as a K27/8. Pretty awesome service.

Where the crossover mates to the turbine housing there is a metal sealing ring - does this have to be replaced with the turbo re-installation? Thanks.

Yes, replace that crush ring or you will have an exhaust leak.

Getting them out can be a pain sometimes, usually i drill a small hole through it which causes it to pop out..sometimes though they are really stuck in there good and require more destructive means.

Thanks Duck, naturally didn't think of this before unfortunately. Delays, delays . . .

Charlie and I have talked about doing this, too. As soon as I can get my 26/8 off the car it's on its way...I'm stoked seeing yours!

Been busy today. I actually accomplished getting the turbo back on the engine, so it is ready to be installed.

Thanks Patrick!

I had a new crush ring for my wastegate so I ordered one for the wastegate install from Lindsey, saved me from having to wait for it to be sent fortunately.

Installation should begin this week or next, I finally have all the parts I need and the turbo is mounted so I just need to arrange pick-up of engine/car by my shop.
