Default 1986 951 For sale - $6,000.00 obo 86k miles

So I have tried to sell this car before and it just has never ended up happening.

Now I have bought a new toy:

I know a few people were interested in this car, I didn't have time to respond as I've been looking at the Elise, driving them, and researching a good deal on one. Finally got it and decided to just buy it and worry about the Porsche afterwards.

So, here we go again x 2!

I am asking $6,000 and I am negotiable. Honestly, at this point I hardly ever drive it anymore and it mostly sits under it's car cover. Please make me stop wasting this car away!

I ended up buying a Street Triple R. Between that and my modded 370z the 951 has really fallen to the way side. Mostly because the Street Triple is so fun. I use the Z for commuting and that is about it.

A little bit about the car:

Currently Located in Houston, TX
No accidents and clear Nevada title.

It is a 1986 944 Turbo with ~86,000 miles. I bought the car in 2005 when I got back from Iraq with about 81,000 miles.

The car was located on the northeast coast and I brought her to California then trailered to Houston, Texas where I'm located now.

Exterior:
There is no rust, and the frame is straight.
Paint could use work but it is not in bad condition.
Damage:
- Header panel has some dings in it on driver's side. I was going to just buy a new header panel as it doesn't look fixable.
- Driver side fog light busted and needs to be replaced.

Car sits on the Adjustable Koni yellows from the m030 or sport package I guess. I don't recall I just know they were oem that I bought from Lart951

It also has Boxster S wheels with a few scuffs on them with Yokohama Advan AD07's with about 90% thread. 225's up front and 255's out back. Car has wheel spacers to fit these wheels.

Interior:Interior looks great, slight crack in the dash but hardly noticeable, seats have no cracks and I condition them. Slightly worn.

The panel right behind the sunroof has been taken off since the leather needs to be redone on it.

A/C does not work and never has since I've owned the car. It does blow air, just not cold. Heater works fine.

Inside the only thing I've changed has been the addition of the Lindsey Racing A pillar dual guage pod, which has an AEM wideband o2 sensor installed and a cobalt blue boost guage. The boost gauge is currently not hooked up to a power source so it does not light up which annoys me at night and looks tacky sometimes.

There is also a new Kokeln shift **** and the lindsey racing mafterburner inside the car. Everything else is stock and in good condition (besides the seat **** things that always fall off).

Transmission:
Transmission does not scratch into any gear and feels great. Always loved the 944 transmission. Shifter assembly was changed out when I bought the car due to the plastic bushings being worn and it driving me crazy. Also has an aluminum kokeln shift **** installed.

Engine:
I believe there to be a leak at the front main seals, but I don't know for sure, it could definitely have the head taken off and everything cleaned up. I have not done it and I've no idea if the previous owner did either.

Car starts just fine, idles great with no surging or hunting.

I was told by the dealership I bought it from that the water pump had been done along with the timing belt. I do not have the paperwork for this however as I was in Iraq when I bought the car.

Have always used 10w30 mobile 1 in the car. Average oil change was 5k miles with me always keeping a quart in the car and adding if it got a little low.

Pretty much where I put most of my money I guess is in the following:

-An oil catch can that I can not remember the name of, but I think it's Makuni or something along those lines.

- Speed Force Racing Stage 1 turbo - T04E water cooled.

- Lindsey Racing MAF with Mafterburner piggy back.

- Lindsey racing DME and KLR Chipset for close to stock cars (just adds a little timing and I have not tuned timing after the larger turbo, only changed AFR's to be in the low 11's at peak boost

- 72# siemens injectors

- LR adj. FPR set at 3 bar

- New fuel lines

- Fuel Rail Pressure Gauge

- New plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor

- New intake manifold gaskets (from when I swapped the turbo)

- LR Manual Boost Controller set at 18 psi

- LR 3" exhaust with no cat, just resonator and muffler, though honestly I don't find it that loud.

- Car has stock exhaust manifold and I am in the process of changing it out with another OEM one that was ceramic coated. Stock one on the car now had cracked at the y pipe and previous owner did some weird fix that looks terrible. It doesn't leak but it looks like they just kept welding and adding metal until it stopped. No telling what mess is on the inside of the pipe now.

The car dynoed at 300 rwhp @ ~18 psi on pump gas at a local Houston shop called Secret Service Automotive. Later that same night it trapped at 117 mph. The dyno has been set up to read very low, but very accurately depicts variances in the cars power output from various changes to the car.

On race gas the car dynoed at 350 rwhp @ 22 psi.

Please feel free to ask any questions

Thank you for looking.

Here's the dyno on race fuel and 22 psi.
I don't think I have the pump gas @ 18 psi one uploaded, but it was about 50 whp less at peak and it spooled slightly slower.

So, the WP and TB need to be changed? since 2005? This really isnt an issue because the car is more than worth it

Damn it! I am trying to sell one of my other vehicles currently. Once sold I will be in the market for a 951 and this sounds perfect for me.

Thanks for the interest so far guys! Soon as I get home I'll send out more pics and reply to pm's.

This car is not even an 8/10 so don't expect the best looking 951 ever, haha.

Ok, I have included links to the pictures. I forgot I downgraded that photo hosting site so it no longer allows hot linking or what not.

It is actually 944 pm right now. Which is very weird, but also pretty late for me so I will have to send photos to those that asked tomorrow. Thank you.

Nope, lol.

I'm sure it would sell better if I was more active about it, but let's be honest.... I don't really want to sell it, I just know I should.

I have not listed the car on eBay, or Craigslist, or even put a for sell sign on the car.

If you could see me right now, I'm kicking myself!
I just picked up my first 951 a week ago and the specs are not even comparable.
Had I not had several things to bring the car up to DD reliability, I could have spent the money on mods.
I am shocked that you haven't sold in over 3 months!
I might have to check the bank...

Unless you live in Iceland you should be running higher viscosity oil. Push it up to 20w50 and your leak will probably diminish. Not to mention be more healthy for your poor motor running 22# boost!

Good luck with the sale though - you've got some great vehicles to fall back on!
