Default Factory coil wire help

What do the two factory wires on top of the factory coil do? They are green and black

ok so the black is the 12v key switch power and the green is what? tach signal?

Green go to DME pin 1. Pulses to ground to fire the col.

OK thanks, I have the factory DME removed, i am running standalone and I need to wire in my coil packs... I was checking too see if i could use those factory two wires.. but the way it sounds i will have to run my own 12v key switched and tap the tach signal from the harness under the dash... damn.. thanks for the help Brian, you're the man.

The tach signal also comes from the DME. You need to use the ignition driver from your standalone to fire the coil. Remember to fuse the 12V to the coil, I have no idea why Porsche ran a hot wire to the coil.

My standalone engine ms is what needs the tach signal... well that coil pack does. hummmm
