Hi guys

Well that's my 951 that was listed on Ebay. Been going back and forth for a while on selling it.
I pulled the listing this afternoon after several people contacted me saying it was listed too low. I wanted to look into it further. I got one gentleman out of TX offering me $22,500 and wants it asap. Do you all think I've got it under priced?

I bought it new, and was the original buyer, it did come with the 16" phone dials. But I honestly did not like them much. (But I realize that would have increased the value)
And the bra/door sills are removable so should not be a big deal. Just not sure what to ask for it. Certainly one of the lowest mileage 944 turbos around. - and not modified, restored, painted, ect.

Hi Joe,
It is underpriced for sure but you need to get it back to stock form and have the timing belt changed out. After that get some professional pictures and market it internationally. I would start out asking at least $30k if not more.

+1. Anyone who wants a 25 year old car with 1800 miles "right away" wants to close the deal for profit, not for the sake of driving, etc. To me that would signal you're leaving money on the table. Better pics will also help your case.

Well I did sell the phone dial rims after I installed the new ones, so can't really change that. I could go ahead and change out the timing belt - but that's a straight same dollar amount job that would be the same for me or a buyer. As far as the miles - it was a 3rd car in RI, so it didn't go out in winters, combine that with alot of travel, and it just ended up not getting driven much. Anyway it starting to look like 23-24K range is a reasonable expectation.

It's a nice car Joe, thanks for emailing me pictures yesterday. My dad was interested but would rather have silver, even in the pristine condition your car is in...I don't understand that..esp. having 4 red turbo Porsche's myself.

I think 25-27 is a great range for that car.

If I had the money right now....too much into my current 951... I would give you $25000.00 without question!!!

I payed 17500.00 for my 87 with 40000 original KM in 2008.

Some people might find that too high but for me something like that is worth it

ehh, To many good cars with excellent service histories for 10k to consider one for 25k. But this is coming from someone that would drive it. This is ideal for a person collecting.

You should buy mint original wheels and put it back to stock. Then list it in the Dupont registry or similar.

i understand you want to get the most out of your car, beautiful car by the way, but just set a price and stick to it even if it's a high price.

don't start it low, then when people make offers over what you're asking you turn them down. sure is a bad feeling when you want to buy something and you offer the asking price or above and the seller says "i don't know if i want to sell it now".

that's a collector car not a driver for sure. if you want top dollar put it back to 100% stock. if you don't want to mess with it just sell it for 23-25k. or list it at 27k and sit on it. a timing belt job and original wheels wouldn't be very expensive.

if it had the Fuchs wheels option it might be worth 40k

p.s. i don't think i would even start it with those belts on it!

Something I noticed that's really strange in the picture of the back of your car is that the black 'porsche' decal above the bumper doesn't seem to be there... Is that just an optical illusion?

Probably should yank that old school cell phone antenna too.

Thanks for the advise everyone. I now think $25k is a fair price as is. Just been difficult trying to determine a fair price.

In light of the record-setting auction sales for 924/44/68 cars over the weekend, I'd probably contact one of the international auction houses and see if they would have an interest in representing that car. I bet there is a person/dealer/mfg. somewhere willing to pay top dollar. Personally, I'd leave the factory timing belt on it (just don't drive it that way) since it adds to the ultra-rarity of the car. Who among us would have expected these prices:

• The 1980 Porsche 924 GTP (lot 48) at $385,000, a world auction record for a Porsche 924.
• The 1992 Porsche 968 Turbo RS (lot 60) at $346,500, a world auction record for a Porsche 968.
• The 1981 Porsche 944 GTP (lot 58) at $308,000, a world auction record for a Porsche 944.

Your car is not a rare production model like those, but at 1850 miles, it's pretty rare. See story here:
