I had an SFR stage 3 turbo with the KKK #8 replica hotside, then went to a Garrett 0.63 turbine housing, everything else was unchanged, did a before and after dyno run and I picked up a large amount of power right across the rpm range.

Are you saying that you bolted up a garrett hotside to the same turbine wheel/compressor wheel combo?

Is the garrett .63 considered to be bigger than the kkk number 8?

Did the spool time characteristics stay the same after the change (or how were they different?)?

Yeah I think back in the day I might have calculated the #8 in the high 50's but I cant really remember now. I do know the .63 is bigger though.

Spool improved as well. Pretty drastic change all round.

I've been needing a reason to switch to garrett hotside.

But again; are you saying you bolted up a garrett hotside to the exact same turbine wheel/compressor wheel combo which was the SFR turbo?

Yes. It was a 60-1 HIFI with Stage 3 turbine wheel.
