Default identify this turbo?

I just replaced this turbo with a k27/6 I got of another lister an a friend. I want to rebuild it but there is no name or ID plate or even numbers on this thing. According to my paperwork it's a turbo from Huntley in 2000 but the paper work also says BB turbo and this is NOT a BB turbo.
Exhaust out- 2.25
inlet- 2.5
Compressor wheel- 3.0
Turbine wheel- 2.5
Journal bearing/water cooled

This thing has been leaking oil and is in pretty bad shape... I want to make it useable again and either sell it or keep it for a future project.

It looks like “BB” stands for Burned Blackcrap

The cold side looks very familiar but I can’t quite remember that casting.

From what i hear later on Huntley wasnt the most reputable seller. Buyer could have paid for a BB turbo and not recieved one.

Chris, I was thinking that myself. It's a shame that stuff like that would actually happen.

Everything looks to be in good shape.. No cracks, no melting(I have a k26 that seems to have gotten too hot at one point!! Lol), bearings even look good, it's just the seal that wasn't doing its job.

I would like to find a rebuild kit, and clean it up nice... It looks to be a nice turbo if it didn't leak every where!! Lol

Oh yeah, I was told by the PO that it was a GT30r of some type. When I saw it was from Huntley I searched around and saw that they made variants using Garrett stuff so that's what figured it was. It obviously is not!! Haha

that looks like it. yours at least has numbers punched in it!! lol

well, i guess my next question is, where would i get a rebuild kit for this? i would like to do it myself, i have rebuilt a few turbos myself before and am all about saving money.

i will look into rebuilders here in the Raliegh NC area to see prices.

i am liking how the K27/6 is running so this is going to stay on the spare parts rack in the garage

thanks Lart

there are plenty of t3/t4 to4 kits for rebuild on ebay for $ 30+ it's basic stuff the only problem is the high speed balancing.

Well it looks like I was wrong?!?!

So it's a single ball bearing turbo, so is it the same turbo you have Lart? These torx screws are IN there!! I broke 2 bits trying to get them out. I take it a rebuild kit would be a bit different now huh?

Single ball bearing = turbonetics. I would send it back to them for a rebuild or Evergreen Turbo in FL.
