I just used the contact form at their site Friday afternoon and said I had purchased one of their Saratoga Tops and needed information on how to obtain the latch upgrade kit and they contacted me and asked for my address and said they would mail it out next week. Responded and said they could send it late next week or week after since I would be out of town next week and they responded sure thing. So, it seems to me despite the problems with the product, they are responsive if you contact them and ask nicely.

Hmmmmm, well the guys name was Mike Monarrez and he is the Operations/Sales Manager. He responded quickly and multiple times, I will try to remember to post when the parts come when I get back.

Let me start by saying, I love my Saratoga top. I have had it for a number of years and it is awesome. I have read all the comments and you had two choices, get one or not. No one I have met has ever said they don't like it. Everyone who drives or sees my car loves it. My choice to own one was a good choice with no regrets. Thank you Pilkington for reintroducing these tops.

I am a person who does not give up. I saw the patent ended and asked if the tooling was still around. This was meant to be, as everything went as I hoped. I had my cars out today and I wheeled them to perfection. Great day. Happy Easter to all.

Hi All,
I have a new-to-me 1987 944 with a non-operational power sunroof. I've read this threads with great interest, and I think having a clear panel look great on my car. I hear from Pilkington, though, that the new ones are manual only. So, my request for advice on my car is as follows. Should I...
1. Get my current sunroof fixed and stay with a solid top with electric operation
2. Buy this Pilkington reissue Saratoga, convert to manual sunroof (which I believe really requires me to do nothing but remove the original top and replace with the clear since the new clear one has the necessary manual latches already attached)
3. Convert my original to a manual
I'm not 100% clear on whether you get a real "tilt/pop-up" function with the manual conversion, but this is of interest to me since removal/reinstallation is a bit of a commitment on a normal (work) day.
Thanks, all!!

The Saratoga tops are actually for power sunroof cars.
I custom fabricated a couple of pieces to convert them to manual, which I prefer. That said, I think I'd try and get your power roof working and then drop the Saratoga top in place.

Thanks, Greg! But are you sure? Pilkington went out of the way to tell me that their reissue tops (from 2012-current) are manual? Maybe the guy I spoke with had it backwards? It does say 1985-1991 on their website, which would seem to indicate electric roof....
