The best 87 would be $8500. I cant believe that it is true but it is true. I have a nice 88 944ts lowered and stiffened and almost perfect that I know is worth 20K but if wanted to sell it I would never get more than 13 or 14K for it.

It may be considered high but these cars don't sell for Kelly blue book anymore.

Old Porsches are worth what anyone is willing to give.

I'm a fan of records and I'm a fan of the car belonging to a PCA member, especially if they are commanding higher than average price. With recent articles on the 951s' they will continue to climb in value; in small increments,,I think.

and remember,,,old PORSCHES never die,,they just have new owners.

Good luck..

I think it depends on the new paint, how good it is and why it's there, ie. no plastic or body damage. It also depends on records and proof of regular maintenance. If the car is well maintained you should get plenty of trouble free service. I agree Kelly bluebook and add Excellence are worthless for valuing these cars. There isn't another $11,000 car that can come close. My car still amazes me everytime I drive it.

Kelly Blue Book and Excellence survey prices are derived from actual transactions. People may not like those price for one reason or another, but that is the true market. A seller can price their car above the market, but they will likely not sell it unless they find a buyer that doesn't care about the market price. A buyer can pay whatever they want in a free country, but chances are they'll be able to find another car at market price eventually.

Gee and I thought those transactions were a part of the market value equation. Some folks and Excellence believe if they take a stance about 944's not being worthy to hold value and then throw out the transactions that don't fit their conclusion they're right. I think the market has a wide range depending heavily on condition, records, mods., etc. Not all the data makes it to Kelly or Excellence whether it be for statistical reasons or other. That means they don't hold the last word on truth or market value. True market value is in the eye of the buyer.
