Unhappy fuel level sender gasket/hoses?

greetings all!

i have recently started experiencing gas fumes 1) after full fill-up and 2) with windows down/sunroof open - due to the vacuum created.

after some investigation i found a pool of gas surrounding the fuel level sender.

i removed the two hoses, removed the sender and noticed that the gasket at the top of the sending unit seemed a bit pinched. i repositioned and screwed the sender back into postion (screwed the big, black 'nut' down) hard. i noticed that the left (drivers side) hose may be bad near the hose clamp. i pulled the hose onto the pipe as far as i could, hoping to get past the bad section, but it didn't have much extra 'play'....

two questions:

1-anyone have a part number for the sealing gasket on the top of the level sender?
2-are the hoses that lead to the top of the sender easily replaced? where do they go? procedure/tips?

(cross posted to the email lists and the main 944 board)
