Unhappy 16 psi!

Just installed a Autometer boost guage and found out in third and fourth I get a 17 psi spike and then a steady 16psi, I think it's too much, all I have is a Auto Authority SII chip for now, but I ordered a full 3" exhaust with test pipe, that will give it more boost. Is there a way to turn it down a little?

My understanding is that Autothority came with 3 different size banjo bolts to regulate boost, you picking one based on the car. Most people here appears to be boosting about 15psi peak with SII chips I think. If you have the other banjo bolts, try them. Otherwise, you may have to go to some MBC. Good luck

check that the line coming off of the banjo bolt hasn't split/cracked out of age. if the wastegate isn't getting a signal, you can get spikes as high as 23-24psi... if it's split and the signal is "leaking" it can cause everything from an occasionally rough idle (hickups, drop then jump in rpms) to boost spikes... mine was in horrible shape (didn't know it) and you'd be amazed at the driveability improvement upon fixing something like that

I was reading the thread and thinking "Wow, I've never heard of any of these guys before..."

Then I realized it was from 2002.

P.S. Yes.
